Children's Counselling Programs

Counselling and group-work programs are available to children and these are provided in a way that supports and encourages them to communicate their feelings and experiences. This is achieved through offering a range of age-appropriate expressive therapies that best support this process.

Counselling for children takes place in our cheerful and well-equipped designated counselling rooms and children are encouraged to utilise a variety of creative mediums including painting, drawing, sand play and clay modelling.

Children attend counselling to address a wide range of issues. Parental/carer involvement is seen as integral to the counselling process and is supported by the framework offered by the children’s counselling team.

Children’s Drumbeat programs are offered as determined by numbers.

Some of the reasons parents bring children to counselling are:

  • trauma
  • separation/divorce, step family issues
  • family violence and abuse
  • family conflict
  • anxiety
  • behavioural issues
  • bullying
  • grief and loss
